My last few weeks in college ministry

This entire year just flew by! Who let that happen?! Well, it's been a hoot and a half, and I have been blessed beyond measure to have worked in this ministry. My last day with Focus is this upcoming Wednesday, and then after that... well, I'm still praying and looking for jobs!

There have been so many things happening these last few weeks. This is the time for the End-of-Year parties, graduations, student leadership training trips, and finishing well. Our students from all the campuses got to attend a theological lecture on Wisdom Literature (Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs).

I also got to share a sermon with the UTA students on the book of Esther! It's 35 minutes, and you can listen to that here if you would like:

A ton of this month has been saying good-bye, training our students to be leaders on our campuses, and finishing well. I've worked on writing out how I did my assigned projects for the person who will take over that role next, planned the end of year party for our student leaders, attend graduation parties, and I got to have such good memories at our end of year formal.

Since I am transitioning out of Focus, I got to take an extensive course on how to think/live like a Christian in the workplace. This is a fairly big transition since my job has been very clearly about Jesus and making/maturing disciples. I was able to think through how anywhere else I go will also be ministry, just in a different form. It's been really encouraging speaking to so many of you about that and how you get to look like Jesus to your co-workers. I do feel nervous about this next stage of life since I don't know what I'm doing just yet, but I am confident that God has a good plan in store .

I just want to say one last huge Thank You for partnering with me as I've worked in ministry. You have played a vital role in these young people's lives, even if you haven't met them personally. I will forever be grateful, and I hope you know how much of a blessing you have been to me. Thank you so much!

Here have been some of my favorite ministry memories from these past two years. There were SO many more photos to choose from, but I couldn't put my entire camera roll here;)

With love,
Emily Turner
